TCO Cert Certification: what does it mean?
The organic certification process in Canada is voluntary, but many farmers and producers choose to pursue certification in order to provide consumers with a guarantee that their products are truly organic. Certified organic products are identified with the Canada Organic logo, which can only be used by those who have been certified by a CFIA-accredited certification body. That’s where we come in!
What is organic certification?
Organic certification in Canada is a process that verifies that agricultural products have been grown and handled according to strict organic standards. The certification process is overseen by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA), which is responsible for ensuring that organic products meet the requirements set out in the Canadian Organic Standards.
How do I become organic certified?
In order to be certified as organic, farmers and other producers must follow a set of guidelines and standards that cover every aspect of their operations, from the use of pesticides and fertilizers to the management of soil quality and animal welfare. They must also undergo regular inspections and testing to ensure that they are meeting these standards.
